Extended Reliability Assessment of Electronic Components

October 27 & 28, 2022

The failure of electronic components can be a catastrophic event, or at least a very costly one. When one component fails, it impacts the entire system. The importance of having reliable components becomes even more critical for applications such as medical equipment, automotive or aerospace and defense.

The primary objective of the iNEMI Extended Reliability Assessment for Electronic Components project is to identify and develop a set of extended reliability assessment methods for electronic components/PCB assemblies used in critical applications. and harsh environments. The team is focused on proposing methodologies or test sequences that will speed up the detection of faulty component failures and allow for shorter and better verification cycles, saving both time and money.

Phase 1 of the project identified the component-level parts that would be most valuable to a range of users in the electronics industry. The team considered several possible test scenarios for these components based on potential operating conditions and began to identify ways to test for extended reliability.

Join iNEMI for this project report that will review findings and recommendations from Phase 1 and identify next steps for Phase 2.
