SynSaber has announced the appointment of distinguished cybersecurity leaders Mark Weatherford and Ali Golshan to its advisory board.
With over two decades of information security experience each and in leadership roles in some of the world’s largest cybersecurity organizations, Weatherford and Golshan bring extensive experience in technology growth strategy and commercialization, as well as increased depth and breadth for SynSaber’s already impressive well of expertise.
In addition to his current roles as CSO at AlertEnterprise and as Chief Strategy Officer and Board Member of the National Cybersecurity Center, Weatherford has held various leadership roles in cybersecurity and consulting, including that of chief cybersecurity strategist (and current advisor). board member) of vArmour, global information security strategist for Booking Holdings, head of security for the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, and was the chief information security officer for the California and Colorado.
Additionally, Weatherford served as Assistant Under Secretary for Cyber ââSecurity in the US Department of Homeland Security during the Obama administration.
âThe reduced visibility due to proprietary technologies has always been a limiting factor in understanding what is happening in industrial control system environments. SynSaber takes a unique approach to industrial control system security that is not just another security feature in the increasingly crowded security product landscape, âsaid Weatherford. âThe founders of SynSaber are former ICS engineers and operators who have been in the field and understand the challenges of trying to extract information from complex products. They got it and I’m happy to be part of the SynSaber team.
Ali Golshan is the co-founder and CEO of Gretel.ai, a privacy engineering company focused on data classification and synthetic data. Prior to Gretel.ai, Ali was co-founder and CTO of StackRox, (acquired by Red Hat), and prior to that, he was co-founder and CTO of Cyphort. Ali began his career in government, where he conducted security and vulnerability research for the intelligence community and helped solve problems in designing resilient infrastructure.
âThe SynSaber team is building an elegant and powerful solution to fill the existing void in operational and IT systems and critical infrastructure defense,â said Golshan. âTrends toward more processing at the edge mean it’s important to design with scale in mind, and SynSaber is doing it in a revolutionary way. I see incredible potential in the SynSaber product and am excited to join the Advisory Board as their innovative team works to bring their solution to market.
âMark and Ali are illustrious cybersecurity leaders who have long been at the forefront of cyber threat intelligence and protection work as well as business leadership,â said Jori VanAntwerp, CEO and co-founder of SynSaber. âAs leading cybersecurity professionals, and with their vast experience serving multiple cybersecurity technology companies, they each have a wealth of experience and an incredibly successful track record to bring. It is truly an honor to welcome them to the SynSaber Advisory Board and we look forward to their contributions. “
